Welcome to George Loros

George Loros studied with Lee Strasberg, Elia Kazan, Harold Clurman and Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse, after graduating from Hofstra University and has performed and directed on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theatre. His favorite roles, among over 130 stage roles he has played, are Hamlet, Macbeth, Tom in the Glass Menagerie, and Dangerfield in the Ginger Man. He acted alongside Robert de Niro in The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight and Al Pacino in Serpico, among others, and has guest starred in over 100 television shows including the Rockford Files, Kojac, Baretta, Quincy, Law and Order, Cagney and Lacey, Spencer for Hire and the New Maverick. George was cast as Duke Mantee in Len Cariou's New York production The Petrified Forest with Brook Adams and then acted in Herb Gardner's Thieves on Broadway. This led to a role in The Last Warrior, a film for Warner Bros. with Max von Sydow and Yul Brynner.

In 2000 George won the coveted SAG Award for Best Acting Ensemble for The Sopranos. Other awards George has won are the Cine Gold Eagle Award for Best Actor in Mitch & Barbara, (1972), as well as the LA Dramalogue Award as Best Director for The Phone Call, (1978) and again in 1979 for Prowlers.

George appears in the independent film, Clean which won the Best Film award at the New York Film Fest 2004, held at the Cantor Center in New York City. Clean is currently being aired on the Encore TV channel. He has conducted workshops and lectured at the Chautauqua Institute. Harvard, Yale, USC, and universities throughout the US and Canada as well as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Cologne Madrid, Milan and Zurich.

George is a senior acting teacher and advisor at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, where he also directs plays. For six years he played the role of Raymond Curto on the award winning HBO series The Sopranos.

George Loros just finished shooting the independent film Redemption where he plays one of the leads: Detective Paul Garcia. Redemption is directed by Tim Martin Crouse and shot on location in New Paltz, New York. The film was released in 2012.​​
